2016 Blue Jeans Week 38

A really, really hot week.  We are so ready for fall.  The girls had a cross country race this week and with the heat index the temperature was 109!!!!  Ugh.  That is a July temp NOT a September one!  It was a horrible day for a race, but they did great.  We were all sweating buckets cheering them on, but we cannot complain because we were just standing there and not running in it!  So we are really looking forward to fall, and I think it is finally arriving as the high today is only 70 which is glorious after that 109!  Take a look at our week. . .
Sunday afternoons we like to play games.  Careers was on the agenda today.

I am one year into my 4 year school board term.  Today we had a board retreat--an all day meeting, which was actually better than it sounds.  Food was good, company was good, and the weather where we were at was nice enough to be outside in the afternoon.  Meeting outside isn't so bad :)

A picture from Miss A's week--my mom was in town and took her to lunch with her mom, so this is a picture of Miss A, her grandma and great-grandma.  Pretty cool!

Got away with some friends today to do some fall flower shopping.  Love these ladies!  They keep me sane!  and laughing!  Can you ask for better friends than that???

And the miserable cross country race....109 degrees.  Ugh.  But they did great!  So proud of Miss O and Miss E!  And they were running through some mud too!  Hot and muddy, can you get better racing conditions than that ?  Ha!

Before the race the girls huddle to pray.  Love that!

And it is time for Friday night lights and marching band!  yeah!  Miss E and Miss O are out there.  First band performance of the year.  Love football games and the band!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a good week!  Come back soon!!!

2016 Blue Jeans Week 37

We are so ready for fall weather here.  It has been way too hot!  This week isn't supposed to cool down yet, but we are sure ready for when it ever does!  Great week--Miss E got an awesome church award, Mr J got a band award, we had a really hot cross country race, Miss A went to her first college football game, and we had a beautiful rainbow after a storm that Mr J got a picture of.  A great week, take a look. . .
See that beautiful young woman with that pretty necklace on?  The necklace represents over 80 hours of service and way more in other activities to earn.  Miss E received her Young Women's Medallion at church today, and we are so proud of her.  No, she was not wearing the Captain American shirt in church :)  we just didn't get a picture before she changed out of her church clothes :)  Pretty amazing girl!  We are proud of you!.

And this cute kid did amazing on his first band test--best in the class so his teacher took a picture and sent it to me.  Love thoughtful teachers!

The girls love to be creative, and they got it into their heads they needed a collage to describe themselves, so they had a wonderful afternoon one day of cutting up old magazines.  I need to get pictures of their collages now that they are done.  Sometimes creativity can be messy :) but that is okay.

For our young women's church activity tonight we had a sister missionary from Hawaii teach us how to make some Hawaiian food.  Yum!  We had pani popo and Hawaiian chicken soup and rice.  Yum!

One super hot cross country race this week.  Man---so hot and humid.  We need fall!   But these two cute girls did awesome!

And got this picture from Miss A this week--first college home football game.  Yeah!  How fun!!!

We have had lots of rain lately, and one afternoon after a storm Mr J went outside and saw this.  It was a full rainbow--we could see it all the way to the end on both sides--but no pots of gold that we could see.  It was pretty cool!  Isn't nature amazing????

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!!!

2016 Blue Jeans Week 36

We enjoyed the shorter week that Labor Day offers last week.  It is so nice to have a 3 day weekend and then only a 4 day week!  We had some nice weather, and it has finally started to cool down which is nice.  Had another cross country meet and the kids have hit homework full force.  I get several pictures from Miss A during the week.  Love it.  She has lots of homework too and is working hard but having fun also which is good.  Take a look at our week. . .
Enjoyed the holiday weekend and did some biking around the lake near our home.

Got an ice cream pizza which the kids were excited about.  Yummy!

A typical after school shot with all 3 kids on laptops---the evolution of homework.

And this is the before of Miss A's old room

And this is the after with Miss O settled in.  We need to find her a new comforter set.  It will be yellow.  Cute stuff.  She is loving her own space and so is Miss E.

I love it when this guy plays the piano.

Cross country meet for the week.  Go Miss E and Miss O--it was a wet, wet meet and really muddy.  It poured ran when they ran and the course was sooooo muddy.  Miss E slipped and fell with about 400 yards left in her 3.1 mile race.  Bless her heart, but she got up and finished strong by passing the girl in front of her.  She was covered in mud.  Ugh.

This is my picture from Miss A for the week.  Her, her roommate and 3 friends who all served missions in our hometown got together for dinner Friday night.  They are all going to school at BYU so it was fun for them all to get together.  Making lots of memories!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!!

2016 Blue Jeans Week 35

So I haven't decided how I am going incorporate Miss A's college pictures and activities into our scrapbook.   She has so many fun and cool things she is doing.  Exciting times!  She started school officially this week.  We started redoing her room for her sister this week too :)  Our new batch of chickens finally stated laying eggs!!!  yeah!!!  First cross country meet of the season and life is general is good.  Take a look at our week. . .
Our first egg from our new batch of chickens we raised from baby chicks that we got back in March.  Yeah!  Love fresh eggs!!!

Getting to work on redoing Miss A's room for her sister. . .this is a before look

And this is a "middle" in the process look.  Will have to wait until next week for the "after" photo :)  Miss O is taking over Miss A's room since she and Miss E have shared since they were born.  They are both very excited to get their own rooms!

Miss A on her first day of college!  Watch out world here she comes!

Miss O and Miss E on their first cross country meet of the season.  Their girls' team got first place!  Way to go!!!  It is going to be a great season!

Went out to lunch with some of my bestest friends.  Now that school is back in session we try to get together for lunch once a month.  Yeah for great friends!!!

And this photo is from Miss A, she went to a comedy show and met this Studio C actor Matt Meese which our family is a huge fan of.  She was sooooo excited!!!!  and we were too!  Lots of fun!!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you had a great week!
