2022 Blue Jeans Week 16

Hope you all had a blessed Easter!  I am late posting this week because we were out of town end of last week and beginning of this week for college graduations!  It was an exciting week!  3 more college graduates in our family this past week and so proud of them and excited for their next adventures!  Take a look at our week...
My April cake was for Easter and it was an unconventional carrot cake with apricot compote and a white chocolate pretzel crunch in between the layers and white chocolate buttercream.  It was yummy!

Easter dinner for Miss E, and Mr and Mrs JC with his family.

Ben and Mr J checking out a new lego set Mr J got for Easter.

GLO with my besties at a yummy sandwich place!

And we made it to university graduation!  These two graduated!!!  So proud of them!

All our family (minus Mr J who couldn't come because of school conflicts) and Mr JC's mom and Mr A's parents because Mr A graduated too.  3 new graduates in our family!!! Woohoo!

Another super exciting thing that happened while we were there is Miss E attended the temple for the first time.  So proud of her and such a wonderful experience!

Our family at the temple.  Love to see the temple and love to see my family there even more!

And onto graduation ceremony #3 for Mr A!

Our family and Mr A's parents.  We are all so proud of him!

After two days of graduations and attending the temple we needed a yummy dinner to celebrate so the grads chose Texas Roadhouse, and it did not disappoint!

Getting away after the graduations, we went up to the mountains to my grandparents' cabin, and it snowed!  Took a morning walk in the pretty snow!

Relaxing and doing puzzles at the cabin

My grandparents' cabin has been a wonderful place for us and full of special memories!  Don't know when we will get back, but sure loved being there!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you had a good week!  Stay safe and healthy and well!

2022 Blue Jeans Week 15

Hope you had a blessed Easter weekend!  We are so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ and for all He has done for us!  We are grateful that we know life doesn't end with death because of Him!  That is a huge comfort!  We had a good week. More track meets and really cold weather.  Take a look at our week...
Our Sunday game was Tripoley which is an oldie but a goodie.

Today was a very COLD and WINDY day, and I spent from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. outside our high school directing busses as we hosted a huge state band/choir competition.  I was so dang cold!  I wore both of my hoods over my head and a couple pairs of gloves, but it was a good day!  It started snowing on me right at the end, but all the schools made it and their performances were great!  Hopefully if we host this next year, it will be warmer weather!

Getting some eggs decorated for Easter!

My college kids finished up their last day of class this semester and start finals end of this week, and 2 of these kids graduate next week!  Woohoo!  Exciting!  Miss E and Mrs OC had an early morning exercise class that they took together this semester, and for their last day Mr JC joined them.

Track meet for the week.  Mr J ran the mile and 2 mile races and significantly improved his times.  So awesome!

Getting an Earth Day activity in early.  We spent an evening picking up trash around our street.

As a birthday present, Ben got me tickets to a dinner theater restaurant in the city.  We saw a great play.  It was a fun evening.  Haven't done anything like this in a long time!

Went shopping in the city and ended up getting a new mattress that didn't quite fit into the car, but Mr J was very generous and volunteered to be squished the hour and a half ride home because it was for his bed.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you are safe and healthy and well and had a great week!  See you next week!

2022 Blue Jeans Week 14

We have had a good week.  First track meet of the season, and it was so cold and SO windy!  But Mr J did amazing!  Looking forward to more consistent spring weather. Got out in the yard to do some work for the first time this season which is always fun.  It was a good week, take a look...
My cute college kids and their weekly sibling dinner.  So glad they do this.  Makes my heart happy!

Pizza night at home!  3 pizzas for 3 people is definitely the right ratio for pizza night :)  we did a deep dish and we have become huge fans of sourdough pizza crust.  Yummy!

Gave the front door a new coat of paint.  Love this color!

This lego set has been hanging around this week.  It is a fun one!

First track meet of the season for Mr J.  It was so cold and SO WINDY!  Like 25-35 mph winds with wind gusts of over 45 mph and temperatures in the 30s.  Not fun running weather but Mr J did amazing in both of his events and placed 2nd in one and 4th in another.  So good!  He is coming back from an injury so for him to run well and feel good is a huge blessing!  Looking forward to a great track season!

I am in charge of an Easter egg decorating activity for the youth coming up and I had seen these egg spinners, so I decided to order one to have for the activity.  They are pretty cool!

I had fun doing lots of eggs on it :)  I didn't hard boil them.  They are raw, but it only takes a minute to do them on the spinner.  I think the kids will like it.  I did!

My girls had a fun girls day shopping, going to lunch and getting treats.  So fun to see them together!

Date night this week was disc golfing which we are not super good at, but we have a nice course in town, and it was a beautiful evening, and we had a lot of fun.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you are healthy, safe and happy! Have a great week!

2022 Blue Jeans Week 13

Spring finally seems to be arriving along with a snow storm this week.  The snow covered my daffodils, but then it was all melted, and we had sunny and blue skies by the afternoon.  Welcome to spring!  My paternal Grandma passed away and her services were this past week.  I was not able to attend because of time and distance, but I was grateful it was live streamed so I could watch.  My college kids were all there, and my sons in law played the musical number.  It was a beautiful service for a beautiful lady that I loved very much!  Take a look at our week...
My two handsome guys!  Mr J got a new suit, and he and Ben both looked so good Sunday at church!

Went to lunch this week with my cute friend.  Grateful for friends who listen and bring us joy!

My grandma's services were  live and online so I could watch them.  They just did a simple graveside service, and my two sons in law played a beautiful music number of a violin duet of The Prayer which was my grandma's favorite song.

My kids and some of their cousins at the services.  So fun to see them all together!

My cake for March was a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream from Mel's Kitchen Cafe. So yummy!

Hello Last Day of March with a snow storm and the biggest and prettiest snow flakes you have ever seen!  By afternoon it was blue skies and sunny and all the snow was gone.  Hello Spring!

Our niece got married and my college kids went together.  Loved this picture of them!

Date night this week was attending a senior vocal recital for a young lady we have known since she was born, and their family is our close friends.  It was a beautiful concert!  We remember seeing her sing at preschool graduation as she was the same age as Miss O and in her class.  So awesome to see her at this stage in life!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!  Stay healthy and safe and happy!
