What's up Wednesday--spicy oatmeal raisin cookies

These were our Sunday cookies this week, and these have been a family favorite since 2002.  Yum!  These are the absolute best oatmeal raisin cookies.  They make your kitchen smell so good when you are cooking them.  These freeze well if you have any leftovers, which we seldom do, so enjoy!
Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup butter flavored shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups rolled oats
 1 cup raisins

Preheat oven to 350.  In a large bowl cream together butter, shortening, brown sugar, sugar eggs and vanilla until smooth.  Add the four, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt into sugar mixture and mix well.  Stir in the oats and raisins.  Drop by tablespoons full--I always use my medium cookie scoop from Pampered Chef for cookies--onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 10-12 minutes until light and golden but do not overbake.  Let them cool for 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheets to cool completely.

Enjoy!
