2012 Blue Jeans Week 15

Have you ever had one of those week where you feel like you are drowning because you are insanely busy?  Well, this week was like that.  Don't want to bore you with details, but sufficeth to say, I think April's activities and business might put me over the edge :)  And to top it off, my kids will be out of school for the summer in one month!  One month!  Ahh!  But I can't think about that too much, I am just trying to survive these next two weeks of piano and choral competitions, soccer games, track meets, and dance rehearsals.  If I can make it to May 8th with my sanity still intact, I will consider myself very lucky and blessed.  Anyone else in the same boat?  Are April and May activities drowning you?  And then there is yard work, gardening, mowing, cooking, cleaning, school projects, spelling lists. . . and the list goes on, but despite all this I am very blessed.  I don't have to do it alone.  I have a very supportive husband, and I have soccer games and track meets to go to because I am blessed with kids.  I have piano recitals and choral performances to go to because I am blessed with wonderful kids.  My family is a blessing, and I am grateful for that, and someday I am going to be really bored sitting at home with nothing to do--just wondering when that will be ??? :)  So here are our pictures from this week, and thankfully they don't show me running around pulling my hair out.

Sunday:  Easter--everyone in their new stuff all ready for church.  Mr J picked his tie out himself, and when did my 2nd daughter get as tall as my oldest?  Crazy!

Monday:  Mr J and his awesome pajama ensemble--man that kid has style :)

Tuesday:  Miss E lost a tooth at school today

Wednesday:  My volunteer day at school.  I snapped a few pictures of Mr J's class--the classic, "pick me" with his hand raised.  Love it!

Thursday:  I was at the school today for something--seems I am always there for something or another, and I peeked into the gym where Miss E class was doing archery.  How cool is that? 

Friday:  My iris are already out and blooming this year--a month early!  These purple ones smell divine, I wish you could do a scratch and sniff on a blog--you would love it!

Saturday:  Our church has temples where special worship services and marriages are performed.  I was married in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple.  Where we live our closest one has been about 5 hours away, but they recently built one just 2 hours from us, and we are so excited!  We drove up there today to go through the open house, and it is so beautiful!  The kids were very impressed.

Blue Jeans Week 15

A week behind but better late than never :)

Easter Sunday:  Love the new dresses and how they each have their own style--long gone are the days they would all wear the same dress :)

Monday:  Mr J didn't have school today, so he got extra lucky and got to go have lunch with Grandpa!  My dad is retiring this month after many, many years as the art teacher at our local junior college.  It is sad to see his office slowly being emptied, but I am excited for him to start a new phase in life.  Way to go Dad!

Tuesday:  Kind of blurry, but the girl was running fast!  Miss E's last soccer game today!  Yeah!

Wednesday:  Had lunch with some girlfriends today, and we went to this place that had the biggest and best hot chocolate I have ever had--all the whipped cream on top--oh my!

Thursday:  Beautiful day, and the crew went on a bike ride while I had some quiet time :)  so nice

Friday:  Two pictures for today.  Each April our county hosts a Young Author's conference/competition.  The school children write books and the best book winners get to attend a conference with 2 visiting nationally known children's authors or illustrators.  My mom is the co-chairman of this thing, so we get to attend a dinner with the visiting authors the night before.  Above are my kiddos with children's book author Pamela Duncan Edwards.  If you have never read her stuff, please check it out--super fun picture books your kids will love!

This is the other visiting author--Dandi Daley MacKall, and she has written over 400 books for kids--picture books, novels, check her stuff out.  They were both awesome to listen to and meet.  Great people!!

Saturday:  Today was Miss O's 11th birthday!!  We took her friends bowling then back to our house for pizza and then the girls had an impromptu hair salon--cute, cute! 

All dressed up for Easter

You know, I have good kids. Not perfect kids. They have their moments, like I have mine. They probably get a lot of their bad moments from me :) I had great hopes for awesome Easter pictures in their cute new dresses and clothes, but everyone has their moments and sometimes Sunday mornings before church are not our best moments. Ben has to leave an hour earlier than we do for church, so I have the job of getting all four kids ready and out the door on time, plus trying to make myself presentable. We are not usually on time, and no matter how much prep I do something always goes wrong--tights get holes, shoes can't be found, we are filing out the door and someone yells "Wait! I have to go to the bathroom!" Ben can usually tell how the morning went by how loud I sigh when he asks me "How did it go this morning?" after I have sat down after filing everyone in our row by him. Ugh, Sunday mornings are not my favorite. Anyway. . . Easter pictures. Miss E was the only one willing to an individual shot in her new Easter dress.

Miss O was kicking her brother to get him to smile because as you can see in the below picture, he was not happy about having his picture taken this morning.

Ah, feel the love :) And the wind kept blowing the girls sleeves up, and everyone was cold and saying "Can we go now?" Yeah, I love Sunday mornings :) This was a loud sigh morning, let me tell ya. But, come what may and LOVE it!!
