2018 Blue Jeans Week 11

Last week was a busy one.  We are enjoying spring break this week.  A very much needed break!  Take a look at our past week. . .
We had 3 new members elected to the school board.  I really enjoy serving with these people.  I am looking forward to serving with the new members.

Miss O asked the school if they could do a walk out, but make it very non-political--not about guns, but just about remembering those lives lost in school shootings and to make awareness for school safety.  This picture was in the newspaper to advertise the event.

First track meet of the season--Miss E doing the triple jump.  She did great!  Always love the look of concentration that she has!  She is an intense competitor!

Pi Day!  We had chocolate pecan and apple pies to celebrate.  Yum!

Miss O and her friend who helped her organize the walkout.  I was very proud of them.

In our high school of 300, we had almost 200 kids plus faculty walk in silence in remembrance of the over 100 lives that have been lost in school shootings over the years.  As a parent, community member and school board member I was honored to walk with them.  I was so impressed by the kids. It was a moving experience.  So proud of Miss O for organizing it!

We had a family temple day on Saturday.  My mom, sister and brother-in-law joined us at the temple in the city.  Just got a picture of my Mom and Miss O.  It was a neat day.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!  Come back soon!

  1. Way to go Miss O! That takes a lot of courage & gumption to organize & pull off something like that. That's awesome that she asked the school ahead of time & that they approved of the students doing that. ♥ ♥ ♥

  2. I wish Justin would try long jump or triple jump or something new. He just does the distance running in track. Great for Miss O organizing that March. I like seeing the kids take a stance so we can hear their voice too. Looks like a nice week.
