2022 Blue Jeans Week 1

Hello 2022!  Our year started out great.  We enjoyed having Miss E home for a few days at the beginning of the year before school started again for her on Jan 3rd.  We got our yearly goals made per our tradition on the first Monday of the new year.  Made a cake for Ben's work and started a sour dough starter.  Hello 2022!  Something new!  Take a look at our beginning of the new year!
Happy New Year!  We had some left over sparklers from Miss O and Mr JC's wedding and we used them to ring in the new year!

Miss E was flying out really early Sunday the 2nd, so on the first we went up to the city to spend the night at my sister's who lives near the airport and we took in a movie that evening.  We enjoyed the new West Side Story.  The classic is one of Ben's favorites.  Love the theaters with the recliners!

Ben and Mr J getting the tree down and fixing all the lights that went out on it this year.  Keeping a 12 foot tree in lights is a process!

Our goals for 2022!  We always choose goals in four areas--spiritual, temporal, mental and physical and Mr J adjusted his a little to spiritual, social, intellectual and physical.

My first cake of 2022 was a chocolate oreo for one of Ben's employee's birthdays.

I decided to start a sour dough starter at the beginning of the year.  I follow a cooking store on instagram (Orson Gygi) and they were starting one so I decided to make one too.  New thing for 2022! Never done sour dough before.  Excited to try it!

We had a day date this week. Ben took a day off and we went to breakfast at a yummy place that had amazing cinnamon rolls.  So good!

Went winter hiking in a little snow and around a frozen river as part of our day date.  It was a great day!  Keeping our weekly dates going for 2022 is an important goal too!

Thanks for visiting!  I have some more wedding pictures coming soon!  Have a great week and stay healthy and safe!
