2017 Blue Jeans Week 8

Last week of basketball for Miss E this week.  She has had a great season.  Their final game was an awesome one!  They beat a team who had beat them twice in the season.  It was a close game and very fun to watch!  Sure proud of those girls--they have worked very hard and come a long ways.  Last pep band performance, a girls' lunch out, and pictures of life this week.  Take a look. . .
Flowers from my valentine :)  Sure love him!

Miss E making cookies for her basketball team.

I make smoothies almost every morning  for everyone to go along with whatever else they want--cereal, waffles, muffin, etc.  Thought I needed a picture of that.  This is life.

Last basketball game!  It is such a good game!  She nailed this shot and the won by 4 points.  An awesome end to the season!

Sure love these ladies!  We got away for a girls' lunch out which is always nice!

Miss E is doing forensics and was asked to perform her prose piece for one of the elementary schools.  A teacher there took this and sent it to me.  She did a great job, and the kids loved her retelling of "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs."

And last basketball games, so it was the last pep band performance--Miss O up there on the mellophone.  Love hearing the pep band play.  Will miss that!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!!!

2017 Blue Jeans Week 7

Happy  Valentine's week!  We had a good week.  Our weather has been amazing for February--70!!!  Wow!  We will take it!  Enjoyed Valentine's dinner at my mom's on Sunday and then did some family things this week.  Always nice to be together, but we sure miss Miss A!  She did some hiking of her own and shared a picture with us.  Take a look at our week. . .
Sunday we had our traditional Valentine's Dinner at my mom's house.  We made our Valentine's trifle--brownies, chocolate pudding, whipped cream and both strawberries and raspberries--yummy!

On Valentine's our library has a sweet's fundraiser.  I offered to make cookies, and these chocolate mint cookies are always a hit!  I got the recipe from Becky Higgins years ago.  They are one of Ben's favorite too, so I saved a few for his valentine :)

Happy Valentine's day!  It was a long day with piano lessons and basketball games, but we finally were all home at the same time to open our family valentine's box and have our yummy valentine's dessert--double chocolate mousse torte from none other than.. Mel's Kitchen Cafe.  So Yum!!

Enjoying our 70 degree days and going for a hike through the woods by our house.

We  found this cool old car :)

And Miss A and her cute roommate went on a hike too!  Midterms are coming up so they needed a study break!

And we love it when Miss O plays her ukulele for us!  She is very good at it.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!

2017 Blue Jeans Week 6

Last week was a nice slower week with only 3 days of school because of parent teacher conferences.  It was nice and much needed.  I think the whole town has been sick, and everyone needed to stay home and let the schools air themselves out and get rid of all the germs!  Ugh!  Tis the season right now.  Miss O had a yucky ear infection, but she is doing much better and was feeling good enough that we could get away for a day on one of their days off.  It is nice to go on little day trips every now and then.  It has been a good week.  Take a look. . .

This cute missionary from our Church has been serving in our area for about 6 months.  He spent Christmas with us and is going home this week, so we had to get a good-bye picture.  Have sure enjoyed having him in our home.

Yeah, a day off!  And we went to the city to the art museum!  So cool!

One of the kids' favorite modern art pieces--that is all wood--little, individual pieces of wood.  Amazing!

After the art museum we went out to eat at a new yummy place and then headed to a cool park.   The kids found this awesome tree.

And they had fun making holes in the ice with some golf clubs we had in the car :)  We decided the park was awesome, but we want to come back when it is a little warmer and the flowers are in bloom because it had a neat rose garden we want to see.

A fun family day!!!  But we were missing Miss A!

And I wanted to show you this bread that I made!!!  It is the Famous NYT No Knead Bread and recipe in that link.  It was very easy--just have to plan ahead--you make it the night before you want it.  We devoured it--no leftovers.  I need to make it again.  Yum!  Is there anything better than warm homemade bread?  Not much in my book :)

Thanks for visiting!  Come back soon!  Have a great week and Happy Valentine's day!!!

2017 Blue Jeans Week 5

Loving our crazy Jan/Feb weather--we had two days this last week in the 60's and one in the 70's!  We will take it!  Still enjoying the slower winter months.  Loving it!  Enjoying it before the crazy of spring hits.  We have been battling colds and coughs here this week which is not fun, but hopefully we are over them now!  Take a look at our week. . .
Happy Kansas Day!  We usually make a sunflower cake, but we wanted a chocolate cream pie this year instead, so we tried to make a sunflower shape on top of the pie with chocolate chips :)  Whatever works.  It was good!

Miss A and her cute roomie made it into the BYU honor society after their first semester!  So proud of those girls!!!

And another Miss A picture--BYU played #1 Gonzaga and the girls got to go...way up near the back of a packed house, but they were there!  They lost, but it was still a fun game to be at.

And speaking of basketball. . . Go Miss E!!  Her team has rocked it this week and won all their games!  WooHoo!!!  Love watching her team play.  They are very hard workers!

And loving hearing this guy play his saxophone!  He works hard at it every day.  Grateful for hard working kids!

And Per tradition, we got our family Valentine's day box decorated this week.  Everyone takes a side.  Miss E did the top---love it!  "Feed Me"  Fill me full of valentine love!

And Love this guy!  We got to get away to the city and attend the temple, go shopping, and eat out.  So nice to have some time together!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!!!
