2018 Blue Jeans Week 38

Busy week....it was super hot and humid beginning of the week, and the kids had a cross country meet, ugh, but by the end of the week we felt like FALL had finally arrived--to stay (we hope!).  Got applesauce made, Miss E had another race, and I got to help feed 500 kids.  Take a look at our week..

Sunday night game playing....careers was the game of choice today

Some of our applesauce that we made and canned from our own apple trees. Yummy!

Cross country race #1 for the week for Miss E.  It was so extremely hot and very humid.  Heat index of over 100.  They ran Miss E's race, and a girl passed out.  Then they ran the boys race and a boy passed out, so then they cancelled the rest of the high school races.  Crazy!  But this girl finished and medaled and was so glad to get this race over with!!

Because of the heat, they shortened and combined the middle school races.  Mr J did awesome and medaled in his first "official" race of the season--previous races were not "official" and didn't give out medals.

These two kids showing off their well earned hardware!

Took a break one day and went to a new candy store that opened in a town nearby.  It was so cute!  They had the best macaroons, and we got some yummy candy to help us through the weekend!

This week our high school hosted a big conference for over 500 area high school kids.  I got to be in charge of helping to feed them :)  I am getting donuts out above in the blue shirt.  Lots of kids!  They had a great time!

Cross country race #2 for the week for Miss E.  This race was so much better temperature wise. Fall had finally arrived, and it was only 68 degrees when they started at 11:30.  Nice.  So much better than the meet earlier in the week!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you had a great week!

2018 Blue Jeans Week 37

Was hoping we were getting into more fall-like weather, but summer keeps hanging on here....Hot and Humid!  Had a cross country race this week, my phone died, got a new one, and our apples were ready to pick this weekend.  Take a look at our week. . .
Sunday is totally a family relaxing day--a day of rest!  It was a cooler day, so Miss E enjoyed getting her hammock out and lots of blankets to read Sunday afternoon.

Cross country race for the week.  It was not and very humid!  But this girl rocked it!  She medaled individually and her team got 1st place!  Woohoo!

First cross country race for this guy for the season and he got 3rd!  Woohoo!

My awesome cross country kids!

So my phone on the left died this week.  The one of the right is my new one.  Exciting!  Thankfully everything transferred very easily, and they are pretty similar so I don't have to learn new stuff :)

We have two apple trees, and we are not the best keepers of them :)  We just let them go all natural, so we don't get good apples every year, but about every 3 years, we get a good crop.  This was one of those years.  Ben picked them Saturday, and we have made apple crisp and are planning on making apple sauce.  Yum!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you had a great week!

2018 Blue Jeans Week 36

We had a fun Labor day, my college girls started school, went to their first home college football game, had our first cross country meet of the season and got up to the city to the temple.  It was a good week.  Take a look. . .
Have you ever played pickle ball?  It is something that is kind of big in our town.  We enjoy playing it.  Out out early on Labor Day and enjoyed a game.  The girls triumphed over the boys :)

After pickle ball we took a bike ride on the trails and to town for lunch and back.  It was a fun day to be together.

Miss A's first day of school--two years of college down, two to go!

And Miss O's first day of college!!!  She is going to rock it!

With everyone back into school, I am finally catching up on some things--like my scrapbooks!

Had our first cross country meet of the year since last week was rained out.  Miss E running varsity, and their team got 2nd place!  Woohoo!

Miss A and Miss O at the first college home football game.  They lost, but football games are always so fun, especially in the student section.  Fun to see my girls enjoy it together!

Saturday we enjoyed getting up to the city and attending the temple together.  Sure love this guy!

Hope you had a great week!  Thanks for visiting!

2018 Blue Jeans Week 35

So this week was crazy as we arrived in Utah, got both girls moved into their separate apartments, got them well supplied with food and such and then left to head home.  It was a very, very quick trip and hard to leave them, but we are very excited for their adventure!  Take a look. . .
We have a new nephew that we got to meet when we were in Utah.  He was snuggling with Miss A.  So cute!

We got to spend the night with my 92 year old grandma who is absolutely amazing!  Still baking cookies and going very strong at 92!!!  Sure love you DeeDee!

While we were gone, Mr J and Miss E stayed home because they had school, and Mr J had a camp out while we were gone.  This was a cool place they went to on their camp out.

And they are both official!  BYU has a junior back and a new freshman!  You can barely see the Y on the mountain.  They were getting lots of smoke from the California/Oregon and other wildfires around.  It was sad to see.  Feel so sorry for those who are right in the middle of those!

Miss O getting her freshman dorm room all moved in.

And I neglected to get a picture of Miss A in her new apartment, but we left and got home and Miss E was making this amazing fruit pizza!  So yum!

And now we get to skype with 2 people each Sunday!  Love it!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!

2018 Blue Jeans Week 34

Catching up again...these last two weeks have been crazy as we have gotten two girls ready to send to college.  It was a week of lasts before we left to head to BYU with my oldest 2 girls.  Take a look at our week. . .
Over the summer Miss A has been helping to teach this children's class at church with her co-teacher.  I had to get a picture of them on her last Sunday at church for the year.  Such cute kids!

And for the summer Miss O was helping out in the church nursery, so these were the cute kids she got to be with all summer.

My niece and her husband were traveling cross country and stopped by to stay with us.  It was fun to have them!

We had a "good-bye" party for Miss O as she prepares to head off to her freshman year of college.

And then we had to go through all her stuff, label and pack it.  She will be living in an apartment style dorm, so she will be cooking her own food so that necessitates extra stuff!

I am so not very good at taking selfies :)  But we had our last family trip to the city together this week for some shopping.

Meet my sister and brother-in-law in the city to have lunch and so they could say good-bye to these two.

Miss A has been working with a lady who opened a cool candy store this summer.  Miss A got to help her get some things ready for it.  Took these two to check out the store one day before we left.

And this is the last time all my kids will be together until Thanksgiving.  So sad!  It is going to be a quiet house with half of them gone!!!

And we left and drove 1150 miles and the first meal we had when we got to Utah was ice cream!!!  Oh yes!  If you ever get to Utah, go to Leatherby's and get anything with their homemade caramel sauce and you will NOT be disappointed.  Divine!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you had a good week!
