2018 Blue Jeans Week 8

We had a good week.  Looking back sometimes I wonder what we did, so I am so grateful I take pictures to remember each day and what happened because without them I would forget a lot!  We enjoyed Monday off and then had a crazy weather week with ball games cancelled and postponed due to a bad ice storm.  Hate ice storms.  This one was really bad, but I am grateful we didn't lose power and everyone traveled safely and no one had any traffic accidents!  Driving in ice is the worst!  Take a look at our week. . .
Monday no school, so Mr J and I went to the library together and then made some cookies.  The girls went out shopping, so we enjoyed being together!  Getting some rain today that will turn into ice later.

The ice arrived Tuesday late morning.  It was the worst ice storm we have had in a few years.  It is really pretty as long as your power stays on and you don't have to drive in it!!!

Got some pictures from Miss A---they took a week's trip to Southern Spain last week.  So pretty!

Senior night this week--last basketball game and pep band for this girl.   So proud of her!  This year is flying by way too fast!

Miss O playing in her last high school pep band for basketball.

Miss A in Toledo, Spain

Miss A and her study abroad group from BYU--10 kids plus the professor and his cute family (the little kids) in Sevilla, Spain.  What an amazing adventure she is having!!!  I love all the different architecture.  The USA is such a young country when compared to the really old European buildings and history!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week and come back soon!

2018 Blue Jeans Week 7

Getting caught up....So last week. . .Valentine's day is a big deal in our family.  We have our own Valentine's day box that we decorate and then make cards for each other and give them out to each other on Valentine's day.  It is a fun tradition.  Since Valentine's was on a Wednesday and that is church night, the young men planned a fancy dinner for the young women.  It was pretty cool.  It was a fun week.  Take a look. . .
We enjoy playing games on Sunday afternoons.  It is a nice relaxing family time.

Maai and Mr J at the church Valentine's dinner.

The youth from our church at their special Valentine's day dinner.  The boys planned the whole thing, made all the food and got roses for everyone.  Pretty impressive!

At home we opened our Valentine's day box and shared the love :)

My roses, my favorite from my valentine!

Got some snow!  We have had crazy weather--ice and snow, and then one day it got to 75!

Miss E and Maai made tuxedo strawberries for our Valentine's dinner at my Mom and Dad's.  Yum!

Thanks for visiting! Hope you have a great week!!

2018 Blue Jeans Week 6

I don't know how I got so behind...crazy busy week last week, but it was a good one.  The kids only had school for 3 days, so we had a 4 day weekend that we enjoyed and were busy!  Take a look at our week. . .
Tis the season for Valentine's....working on our family Valentine's Day box and valentines for each other.

Our finished family Valentine's Day box--a family tradition for many, many years

On one of our days off we went up to the city for a fun day of ice skating--a first for Maai

and the best BBQ in the city, in our option :)  Joe's KC BBQ!  Yummy!

Ben took Miss O to her first rock concert on one of their days off.

They saw The National Parks...Olivia with the band.  She thought it was pretty cool!

Another day we went up to the city to see a ballet, another first for Maai.

Thanks for visiting.  Hope you had a great week!

2018 Blue Jeans Week 5

Busy week of Homecoming activities.  Basketball, band, homecoming, the birthday of our state.  It has been a busy but very good week.  Take a look. . .

Sunday afternoon Miss E went on a walk and Ben and me.  It was a beautiful day.

Monday was candidate introductions to the school, and it is a fancy thing.  This is an amazing group of kids, and Miss O has known most of them since she was in preschool!  Another senior mom moments....

Miss E and Mr J decided they wanted to make a fancy dessert one evening.  They made a brownie and fruit pudding trifle.  Yummy!

We always celebrate our state's birthday with a sunflower cake... or chocolate cream pie with a sunflower on it in this case :)

Miss O playing in the band during a basketball game this week

And Friday night was the big night.  Miss O looked beautiful with her escort!  So proud of that girl!  Another senior moment....

Very proud parents!

And we had this beautiful group of ladies come and get ready at our house and have a mini party before the homecoming dance the next night.

Life is good.  I am so grateful for my family!  Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!
