2023 Blue Jeans Week 14

It has been a good week.  We are finally starting to feel like it's spring, and I love it!  Trees are blooming, and we were able to get out and do some yardwork this weekend.  Take a look at our week...
Sunday for breakfast Ben made aebleskivers which are a round Danish pancake that his dad made for him growing up.  We have them on General Conference weekends.  They are yummy!

We had chili and cinnamon rolls for dinner.  That was a common school lunch when I was growing up.   A perfect combination, I think.

Mr J joined us in playing the new game I got for my birthday Trails.  It was fun.  We had a puzzle we were working on surrounding it.

My brother-in-law makes the most amazing things!  Got this in the mail from him and my sister.  It is a cutting board that I don't know that I ever want to use, it is so fancy!

Date night his week.  Ben and I went to see the Dungeons and Dragons movie not because we know anything about D&D---we do not, but because it had Chris Pine in it and had good reviews.  It was really funny and very good.  Even knowing nothing about D&D, we would recommend!

Saturday was a busy day with lots of mowing and cleaning out flower beds and burning the burn pile.  It was a beautiful day!  Nice to be outside working for the first time in a long time!  Hello spring!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you are healthy and well and safe wherever you are.  Have a great week!

2023 Blue Jeans Week 13

A week full of lots of ups and a definite down.  Had Mr J's last first track meet of his senior year.  We hit a deer on the way home from that, and everyone is safe and well which is a blessing, and the car ran after which was also a blessing.  Ben took me to see the musical Hamilton which I loved, and we had a great weekend.  Take a look at our week...
Sunday's game was 7 Wonders.

Ben got me a new game for my birthday last week, and we played it one night this week.  It was fun!  Love new games!

Thursday was the last first track meet of the season.  It was about an hour away, and I drove down to it.  Mr J was to run the mile and 2 mile races.  He ran the mile and did awesome!  He didn't get to run the 2 mile because they cancelled the meet about 3/4 of the way through because of a big storm coming in.  Mr J came home with me.  About 20 miles from home a big deer ran out right in front of us.  I slammed on the brakes, and we hit it.  Thankfully we were totally fine. Airbags did not inflate.  To us it felt like we hit a speed bump.  The car looks pretty bad.  Also a huge blessing is the car ran just fine, and I was able to get home.  We got insurance called and got it into a shop for preliminary work.  Crazy!!!  SO glad we were both ok!!!

For my birthday present Ben got us tickets to see the Broadway musical Hamiliton.  Ben had taken the girls to see it in 2019, but I didn't go, so for my birthday it was in the city and Ben got us tickets.  It was SO good!  I loved it!  Perfect present!  It was a little windy outside when we took this picture :) Great date night this week!

I have been on a puzzle kick lately.  I have been going through all our puzzles and doing each one of them and deciding if I want to keep them or not.  This was last week's puzzle.  It is actually Miss E's, and it is one of our favorites!

Saturday was the first day of General Conference weekend for our church. Instead of attending our normal local congregation, we have a 2 day televised conference that everyone all over the world who attends our church watches the same thing.  We have it every April and October, and we always have the same treats to eat at we watch---peanuts, candy corn and reese pieces.  This year we added Chex Mix.  It was an amazing conference weekend!  Such good messages about Jesus Christ and how we can come closer to him.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you are healthy and safe and happy wherever you are!  Have a great week!
