2023 Blue Jeans Week 17

LOTS of pictures in this post.  Mr J's last piano recital and then Mrs A graduated from law school!!!!  So proud of her hard work, and it was a lot of hard work!!!  Take a look at our week...
Mr J had his last piano recital this week.  He played an amazing solo of Gershwin's and then did two duets with his friend. They have been taking lessons since they were 5 and been playing together for about as long.

Mr J, his piano friend and their teacher who has taught them since they were 5!  She also taught me when I was in high school :)

Ben and I got on a plane super early Wednesday morning to fly out for Mrs A law school graduation.  Mr J couldn't join us because he had two track meets, and a band competition.  Lots going on right now!

Ben and Miss E doing a puzzle at Mr and Mrs A's house before we headed to graduation.

The huge BYU commencement.  Mrs A is on the 2nd row. :)

Our law school graduate!  So proud of her!

Mr and Mrs A!

Very proud Mom and Dad!

Woohoo!  She is done!

All the family (but Mr J) was there for her law school graduation.

BYU had the huge commencement for everyone, and then the law school had their own graduation ceremony later where Mrs A was hooded with a juris doctor law degree. Steve Young, also a BYU law school grad and SF 49ers Quarterback, was their speaker and then when she got her degree, she got a picture with him, the BYU president and the dean.

Had a little party after to celebrate the lawyer!

Mrs A and her friend growing up who was also her college roommate also graduated.  So fun to see them together again!

Day after graduation we played some pickleball.

Went to an open house for a new temple near Mr and Mrs A's house.

Went out to dinner to celebrate the graduate!

Then we headed up to my grandparent's cabin to enjoy the mountains and being together up there.

There was still some snow up there.

Enjoying the back patio, the view, being together and playing games.

And this girl had a birthday!  23 donuts for this beautiful 23-year-old!

Back at home Mr J and his saxophone quartet rocked their state competition and received a 1 rating which is the highest available!

So a busy week!  Thanks for visiting and catching up with us!  Hope you are safe, happy, and healthy wherever you are!  Have a great week!

2023 Blue Jeans Week 16

Busy week!  Checking out apartments in the city for Mr and Mrs OC for their move in June, National Honor Society banquet, and Prom!  Take a look at our week...
I was in the city all day looking at 5 different apartment complexes as possible places for Mr JC and Mrs OC to move into when they move out here in June for medical school and graduate school.  SO excited to have them closer!  I got lunch at Canes to replenish my energy!  One of my favorites!

My cake for April.  This is actually going to be a wedding cake for one of my best friend's daughters.  She wanted something nontraditional.  It is a Boston Cream Pie cake.  I needed to practice before the real cake is needed for the wedding end of May.  I think it turned out good, and it tasted extra yummy!

Went to lunch and flower shopping with some of my besties!  Sure love these ladies!

Went to lunch another day with another bestie.  Lots of yummy lunches with great friends!

End of the school year National Honor Society banquet. Mr J had served as VP this year.  Senior year is quickly coming to a close!

My J and some of his awesome friends (that decided to be twins :) at National Honor Society banquet.

Mr J and the band got a 1 rating at state.  Their director (kneeling in front) was so excited!  Proud of them! His last band competition!

Hello Prom!  For our prom we have what is called Grand March where the kids line up down the street from the school and drive up in fancy cars, tractors, or whatever creative vehicle they want to.  At the front of the school they get out and are announced as they walk up to the school.  There is always a big crowd.  It is fun for the community to see everyone dressed up and in the fancy cars. This is Mr J and his date in the car owned by his date's dad.  It was a stick shift, so Mr J's date spent the last month teaching him how to drive it so he could drive the few blocks up to prom.  He did a good job!  So fun!

Mr J and his date getting out at Grand March.  They have a line up of dad's across the street ready to drive off the cars after the kids get out.

Mr J and his cute date with her awesome shoes.  He has known his date since she was born.  They are really good friends and are more like cousins than anything.  Our families are really close and get together for Christmas and Thanksgiving.  It was fun for them to go together as good friends.

We found a step for Mr J to stand on so he wasn't quite so short.  They looked so good!

Proud of this handsome kid!

Mr J and his friend all fancy for prom!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you are healthy and happy and safe wherever you are!  Have a great week!

2023 Blue Jeans Week 15

I am a little behind.  Catching up.  This was Easter week.  Gone are the pictures of the girls in new dresses.  I didn't even get a picture of Jesse in his new sweater and tie.  Oh well.  We are good. Take a look at this week...
No picture of Easter dresses or suits, but I got a picture of the food!  Most important thing!  Had Easter dinner at my parents' house. The rolls on the end are called Bunny buns, and my mom has been making them for Easter for as long as I can remember.  It would not be Easter dinner without them!

At church on Easter, I got to sit by this adorable new baby.  The beautiful momma was Abigail's friend growing up and roommate in college.  She was married a few years ago and just welcomed their first baby into their family.  I got to sit by her all during church.  Lucky me!

I was needing some new Christmas puzzles....in April. Yup :)  I ordered two.  New Christmas puzzle number 1.

New Christmas puzzle #2, but this one was missing a piece, so we had to send it back and then it was out of stock.  Why was the Christmas stamp puzzle out of stock in April?  No idea.  I have to find a new one now.....

Track meet for the week.  Mr J is having a great season!

Getting Mr J's graduation announcements ready to send out!  This is happening way too fast!

Went up to KC to serve in the temple for our church and the flowers were gorgeous!

My Dad gave me an Easter lily, and the blooms are so pretty!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope all is well with you and yours and that you are safe, healthy, and happy!  Have a great week!
