2022 Blue Jeans Week 4

We had a pretty uneventful week.  Nothing major going on and some nice weather to enjoy being outside.  It was a good week.  Take a look...

I found a new sugar cookie recipe that I wanted to try with an almond glaze.  We had a lot of fun decorating cookies Sunday evening.

Went hiking with one of my friends.  Nice to walk and talk and enjoy a beautiful, sunny January day!

Mrs OJC drew this and shared it with our family group.  We all loved it!  

A picture from my morning walk.  The lake is partially frozen and the frozen part got a little bit of snow on it, and it was just so pretty this morning with the sun on it.

Celebrating our state's birthday with a 'sunflower' cake like we traditionally do.  This was my January cake--a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting.  It was so good!  One of our favorites so far!

2022 Blue Jeans Week 3

Hello Winter!  We have had some cold days!  We are doing good and thankfully staying healthy.  It was a good week.  Take a look at our week...

Have my January kitchen towel out that Miss E made for me.  Makes me happy.  Love this snowman!

For Mr J's Monday off school this week, we decided to do a service project and got a list of supplies needed from a battered women's shelter to make a care package.  It was a great activity to do together!

Awesome picture of Miss E hiking on Monday on their day off.  Mr and Mrs JC went with her and got the beautiful picture.

Youth church activity tonight was a quiz bowl night.  4 teams each with a bell and first one to ring the bell gets to answer the question.  The kids had a good time!

Date this week was exploring a flea market store in our town.  Some pretty interesting stuff!  It was fun!  Then we enjoyed a hike after on the trails.  Good day date this week!

I finally got to make sourdough bread with my sourdough starter that I made from scratch!  It was really good!  Excited to try some other recipes and keep the starter alive!

The lake by the trails we love is frozen over.  Mr J didn't go out farther than this but it was cool to see it frozen and the different ice layers.

2022 Blue Jeans Week 2

Hello 2nd week of the new year.  We had a good one.  We are blessed to not be sick when SO many are right now.  We had the sad experience of two COVID funerals in our congregation in one week.  Just so sad.  That is two too many!  I know so many have lost loved ones.  It is a difficult time!  Take a look at our week...

I was able to give blood this week.  There is a HUGE blood shortage, so if you can donate, please find a place to do so!  It is greatly needed right now!

Had dinner with this cute kid this week at his favorite place as we were in the city for an appointment.

Church youth activity this week was balloon volleyball.  Kids have fun!  Mr J in here and I am standing in the back supervising :)

My DeeDee (my grandma) on her 96th birthday this week.  My mom and most of her siblings.  Her other brother was taking the picture.  96!  Still lives at home by herself and still baking chocolate chip cookies to share.  I want to be just like her when I grow up!!!

My favorite view every morning.  This never gets old!  My daily morning hikes on these trails keeps me sane! One of my favorite parts of my day!

Date night this week was a movie in.  Ben wanted to watch Dune.  He had read the book and that was a good thing because I thought it was kind of confusing, and he could answer all my questions :)  Sure love this guy and our commitment of weekly dates!  That is also another thing that keeps me sane!  And it makes me so happy!
