2023 Blue Jeans Week 32

Our summer is quickly winding down.  Just a few more weeks before we take Mr J to college.  Time flies. We had a good week.  Take a look...

I love blueberries, and I have a few blueberry pies that I love. Got one made this week.  This is a blueberry custard pie with at streusel topping.  It is so good! From Mel's Kitchen Cafe Here.

I love hearing this guy play the piano. I am going to really miss that when he is gone!

My office has this shelf that Mr J has put all his lego sets on.  He has decided to take them apart before he leaves. He got one down before I could get a picture with all of them.  I will miss the legos too!

I got in a GLO this week with my wonderful friends. So glad we can still make this work! 

For Father's Day Mr J gave Ben these Hamilton figures, and Ben figured out how to stick them on the dashboard of his car.  Love it!

One of the accounts I follow on Instagram was having a giveaway for a Gozney Roccbox pizza oven, and I entered and didn't think anything about it, because you know you never win those things, but I DID win! It arrived this week, and I am excited!

It is an outdoor pizza oven, and I watched all the videos online, and we tried it out Saturday night.  So much fun!  Such good pizza!  I would never have bought me one on my one, but winning one was sure cool and we loved it!

It was cooking these pizzas at 900 degrees in about 40 second.  So cool! 

Ben was pretty skeptical at first, but he really liked it!  We are looking forward to using it the next two weekends with some of the kids home!

Some of our creations....Yes, one ended up with a hole in it, but overall for the first time I think we did really good! Excited to try it again soon!

2023 Blue Jeans Week 31

This was a great week.  Mr J got his quilt from Nana. I got a new bike, and all is well with the world :) Take a look at our week...

My mom is an amazing quilt maker! She has been doing a flannel quilt for each of her family members.  She got Mr J's done in time for him to take it to college. Such a cool design! It will look great on his bed in the dorms!

Game this week was Bold. A fun and more challenging type of a matching game.

How I decompress in the evenings.  I am on a screen all day, so I get out a pencil and do paper sudoku puzzles.  This book was my Grum's. He loved cross word puzzles and sudoku. Makes me think of him whenever I do my nightly puzzles. He did the puzzles at the beginning of the book and I am finishing them.

Ben has been looking and wanting a new bike for a long time.  He hasn't found exactly what he wants for the price he wants yet, but he found one for me.  I wasn't really looked, but he said, "This is a really good bike for a really good deal, but they don't have my size, but they have yours, so I am going to get it for you." That is true love. The bikes we have are ones we bought before we got married, so they are 26 years old this year! My new bike arrived Friday, and our date night was putting it together and then going for a bike ride.

All put together.  My friends asked me what color it was, and I told them I didn't know until we opened the box because I never saw the bike Ben ordered, but I sure love the color!

Making some final seat adjustments, then we are headed out!

Went for a bike ride Friday night, and then Saturday morning we headed out on a longer bike ride on the trails. Love my new bike!  Now we just need to get Ben one!

2023 Blue Jeans Week 30

Two weeks behind again, but better late than never! We are doing good! This was a fun week. Take a look...

Sunday was the last day the C family was with us.  We sure enjoyed having them!

We got a new California King bed, so Ben and Jesse were putting together the new frame for the bed.

Happy Birthday to my mom! We brought over dessert, but then she needed some help with some things at the church, so we went over to help her.  Sure love her!

These 3 kids went on a little trip this week and got some pretty epic ice cream shakes! DeeDee and Grum took us to the same place when they were little, and they remembered how big they were then! Fun stuff!

They went on a little trip for this tall guy's wedding.  He and Ella have been friends since they were born. They are more like family than friends, so it was fun for them to go to his wedding. 

A friend gave me a ton of huge garden tomatoes and a recipe for some really yummy salsa, so I made homemade salsa this week. 

My cake for July---I think it is my 2nd one for July, but who is counting? It is a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting.  We had it when the C family was here, so we had lots of people to eat it :)

2023 Blue Jeans Week 29

Pretty awesome week.  We had Mr JC's white coat ceremony for beginning of medical school and his family here which was awesome!  Take a look at our week..

A pretty awesome creation that Mr J made.  Makes my heart happy!

Game this week was Azul.  A favorite!

This awesome kid is getting ready for college in a month or so.  He will be living in an apartment and cooking his own meals, so he got an instant pot and tried it out.  So fun!

My dad loves to bring us donuts.  We cleaned up some tree limbs at his house from the storm, while he was gone, so he brought us donuts to thank us.  If we have donuts at our house, you know Grandpa brought them over.

Went up to the city on Friday.  Ben and I attended the temple before we headed to Mr JC's white coat ceremony. 

Mr JC getting his white coat as he begins medical school.  Pretty awesome!

Celebration dinner after the white coat ceremony with Mr JC's family and us.  So fun!

Mr JC's family come down to our house for the weekend.  It was so fun to have them!

Played some pretty intensive pickleball!  Had a lot of fun with the C's!

2023 Blue Jeans Week 28

Behind again....I am trying to figure out my schedule with this new job.  It is all good, but I am behind on lots of things, but it will be ok!  Take a look at our week...

Had a lunch date with these amazing friends!  Grateful for a schedule that I can still do this!  Love my friends!

Our house is done!  This is the before....

This is our after--new siding, paint and looks so good!

We had a crazy storm this week.  85 mph winds and 1.4 inches of rain in 20 minutes. It was crazy!  Our poor trees after!

Our cars next to this tree were thankfully not hurt.  The branches from this tree didn't fall on our cars which is a blessing!  Lots of others were not so lucky. 

Went to the city this weekend and met these cute kids for lunch.  So fun!

2023 Blue Jeans Week 27

Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July week!  Ours was great!  We had lots of family here which was fun!  Take a look...

Made my July cake.  It is a biscoff cake, and it was yummy!

Mr JC and Mrs OC came down for the 4th.  We played some pickleball Monday night to get the holiday in the middle of the week started. 

4th of July breakfast at church.  Mr JC and Mrs OC and Mr J all helped cook the yummy breakfast.  It was a beautiful morning!  So grateful for our country!

4th of July pickleball!  My brother and his family were in town which was awesome because we don't get to see them much, so we loved it.  We played some pickleball with them on the 4th before our BBQ and fireworks which I did not get pictures of...

Fun to have the C's here!  So fun to hear Mr J and Mr JC playing duets together.  They are very good!

Getting some long overdue work done on the house.  Getting new siding (old on top, new on the bottom)

and then we are painting the house.  I love the gray color.  Excited to have it all done!

My hibiscus is going crazy right now, and it is gorgeous!  They are huge!

2023 Blue Jeans Week 26

I am a little behind.  Major life change for me this week was I started working full time remotely.  I am a grant writer for a mental health clinic.  I am super excited about it, but figuring out the whole life balance thing has been tricky, so we are late getting this posted, but it's all good!

We had some super hot days this week.  Over 100 for 3 days, and Mr J did some chalk art to remind us that it was HOT!

Got my home office set up.  A big change for me working full time remotely, but it is a great opportunity!

Mr J played a game with me this week.  Ben was out camping with the young men from our church over the 100+ degree days.  Not fun, but Mr J and I had fun playing games and keeping cool.

Another way we kept cool was trying the new lemonade shake from A&W.  Highly recommend.  I am a huge fan of Chick-fil-A's frosted lemonade, and I thought this was better than that.  So yummy!  Perfect summer treat!

Ben and I went to the city on Saturday and on the way home we passed a sunflower field, so we had to stop and get a photo.  So pretty!

There were some storms rolling in, and the clouds were so pretty on our drive home.
