We had one HOT summer week this past week. Heat indexes in the 105 to 115. Ugh....you don't even want to leave the house, but we had to a few times. Mr J experimented with a cool cake this week, had his last swim team meet of the season, and we enjoyed celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Take a look at our week...
With it so hot outside, Mr J came up with things to do inside. He experimented with making a marbled cake. This is the "before" picture
He and Miss E decorated it the next day, so this is the 'after" picture
And then this is the inside picture :) it was a pretty cool looking cake! and it tasted good too!
Mr J getting ready to jump in at a race in his last swim meet for the season.
Mr J rockin' the butterfly.
Backstroke in the IM where he also got first. He ended the season with a bang getting first in all 5 of his individual races and a 1st and a 2nd in his two relays. A great way to end a season!
Happy 50th anniversary of the Moon landing! We celebrated by staying home in the cool and watching the new Apollo 11 documentary film made from all the original films done during the original mission. It was good. We also watched Hidden Figures, which I love, and ate these yummy oreos to celebrate the amazing achievement! It was a good weekend!
Thanks for visiting! Hope you had a great week!!!
That cake turned out so cool and i bet was yummy too. You guys always find the best Oreos. I haven't seen those moon ones but we did enjoy watching all the footage on TV here and there about the original moon landing.
