2020 Blue Jeans Week 11

So if you are familiar with the musical Hamilton, there is a song called "The World Turned Upside down."  That song has been playing in my head for the last few days.  Wow.  Our world has been turned upside down, but prayers for those who are fighting the CO-VID 19 virus and for the families of those who have passed away from the virus, and prayers for the healthcare workers all over the world working so hard to help so many!!!  Our worlds are turned upside down to prevent more from having their worlds permanently turned upside down.  We are focusing on the greater good for all, so we will look for the beauty and the joy in what we have and where we find ourselves now.  Prayers for so many right now!  So, these are my pictures from last week, take a look...
Our very first daffodils bloomed!  Spring is coming!!

Helped Miss E do her taxes this past week.  Exciting times!  Good life lessons for her!

I enjoyed an evening walk and a beautiful evening sky while my family was at church activities.

And then everything changed.....screen shot from our church account.

And screen shot of announcement that church services and any and all activities and meetings are temporarily suspended.  Major adjustment for our family, but I loved what our Church leader said in making this announcement, we want to be part of the solution to the problem, so anything we can do to help and limit the spread.  Amen!  So home centered church for the unforeseeable future.

Celebrating Pi Day!  Miss A and her friends enjoyed the day with some yummy pie!

And we also had our own Pi day celebration. We made apple, lemon supreme and chocolate cream pies and invited some friends over to play some games.  It was a fun night after a very stress filled day of announcements, cancellations, and adjustments with schools, church and activities.  We decided we are going to play a game a day for the unforeseeable future :)  We did this last summer and really enjoyed it. Let the games begin!

Prayers for each of you  and your families wherever you are and that you stay healthy and safe!  Wash your hands, don't touch your face and stay home if you are sick!

2020 Blue Jeans Week 10

Late as usual this week, but better late than never.  My life as a basketball mom is officially over.  That is a sad thing.  I have loved watching Miss E play since 7th grade.  She has a passion for it even though she is the shortest player on the whole team, but she is fierce and a great competitor.  So last basketball game was this week.  Mr J had a jazz band competition, and the kids had a day off school for end of the quarter.  Only 9 weeks of school left, and only 8 for senior Miss E!  Take a look at our week...
Mr J rockin' his solo at the jazz band competition this week.  They sounded so good!

Last basketball game ever for Miss E, and she got to start!  Ready to go!  So proud of this girl!

Had lunch with these two cuties one day this week.  Yummy!

Weather has been so nice!  It finally feels like spring is here, and the kids enjoyed being out on the trampoline for a little bit in the nice weather.

Mr J and his forensics team this week.  He got first in both of his events and their team was league champs!!!

A picture from Miss O this week, she and her friends took a road trip and went to Vegas to get away from school.  She said it was fun but she doesn't want to go back :)

And Miss E enjoys cooking when she can.  She made some yummy lemon cupcakes this week.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!  Wash your hands and don't touch your face!

2020 Blue Jeans Week 9

Better late than never...We had a good week.  Long weekend with the kids off on Monday.  Our weather is finally warming up and the sun is shining.  Life is good.  Take a look...
Our absolute favorite waffles.  I make them once a week to freeze so everyone can warm them up for breakfast each day.  Yummy!

Getting out to enjoy some nature on a nice day.  We love our hiking trails!

Kids had Monday off, so Ben took the day off and we headed to the city.  Went to Top Golf which was fun and a first for us.  We are soooo not golfers, so it was funny to see us hit nothing as often as we hit the ball :)  Fun memories!

Miss E was in charge of finding a place for lunch and she chose Vietnamese food.  It was yummy!

More basketball!

My oldest Miss A and college graduate who is heading to law school this fall!  Excited for her!

Mr J rockin' the forensics meet this week with his team.  He medaled in two events!  Woohoo!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you had a great week!

2020 Blue Jeans Week 8

Still lots of basketball going on here.  We have 2 weeks left.  It is a bittersweet thing as it is my last basketball player and her senior year, so we are trying to enjoy it.  Lots of good stuff this week.  Take a look at our week...
Sunday evening reading--Ben reading a new book out loud to us all.  One of my favorite things!

Mr J rocked it again at his Forensics meet this week!  First place!  Woohoo!

This girl doesn't always get to play, but she sure loves the game!  Love her coach and the other girls on the team too!

Sure proud of this basketball player!

#2 basketball game for the week.  Miss E sinking her free throws!

And Friday night Ben read to us again.  Perfect evening curled up with a good book!

Miss E and Mr J working on a school project together which is fun to see.

Hope you have a great week!

2020 Blue Jeans Week 7

Busy, busy week.  Two basketball games with one being the last home game and to honor the seniors.  Senior moments galore this week and exciting college news.  Take a look at our week....
Ben reaches over Miss E to taste the cookie dough as she rolls out Valentine's sugar cookies Sunday afternoon.  Sugar cookies are our tradition on Halloween and Valentine's day.

Basketball game #1 for the week.  Mr J rockin' with the pep band at the game.

Decorating and eating the Valentine's sugar cookies is always a favorite activity!

Miss E helping me make cookies for a library fundraiser.  These Andes mint cookies are a favorite!

Super cold day, so we built a fire tonight and enjoyed playing a new board game together.

Last home game and senior night.  The 5 seniors getting ready to be announced as the starters for tonight's game.  These girls have played together since middle school.  Lots of good memories!

And Miss E got super exciting news on Saturday as she received her acceptance letter to BYU!  #byubound

Our traditional Valentine's dinner this year.  My dad was out of town, so we enjoyed having my mom join us.

My new recipe to try for the month of February was creme brulee.  We had it for our Valentine's dessert.  Yummy!  Using the kitchen torch was extra fun!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you had a good week!

2020 Blue Jeans Week 6

Better late than never.....running a little behind this week getting pictures posted from last week.  It was a good week.  Lots of basketball and other fun things.  Take a look....
Some dear friends invited us over for a Candlemas dinner which was really fun.  We have never celebrated that before.

And my favorite photo from the Superbowl win with Coach Andy Reid fist bumping Steve Young and saying "How about those Cougs?"  Oh yeah!  Go Cougs!  Love it!

Basketball means pep band for Mr J.  He and the other saxophones rockin' it at one of the two games last week.

Miss E and these other amazing young ladies presented at a state wide career tech ed conference this past week on their internships.  It was pretty awesome.  They did a great job!

Ben and one of his employees celebrating Red day at work!

And this young man rocked his forensics meet by getting first again in the poetry division!  Go Mr J!

Homecoming and the girls varsity team with their amazing coach.  Miss E's last homecoming.  More senior lasts.....so proud of her!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!

2020 Blue Jeans Week 5

Lots of basketball this week, but not exactly the kind you might think, we had donkey basketball that Ben participated in as a fundraiser for the schools.  So much fun!  Lots of normal basketball too.  Take a look at our week...
My date one night this week to Miss E's basketball game

Happy Kansas Day!  We celebrated with our traditional sunflower cake.  Yummy!

Ben's donkey basketball team!  They got #1!  Woohoo!  If you ever have a chance to go to a donkey basketball game, don't miss it!

Ben on his donkey.  The ball they used was much smaller than a normal basketball.  You could only pass the ball or shoot the ball if you were on your donkey.  You could get off your donkey to pick up a dropped ball or whatever, but you had to keep a hold of the reins.  Pretty fun!

Ben in the middle of one of the donkey basketball games.  Too much fun!

And my date for another basketball game this week. Sure love this guy.  He was happy to be watching instead of playing this time :)

Hope you had a great week!  Thanks for visiting!
