2023 Blue Jeans Week 45/46

Catching up and getting two weeks done in one. 

We went to church and played some games up at the C's house. So fun to be with them!

I voted! I also voted for myself again for school board. I won, but I was also unopposed. Here is to another 4 years!

Been seeing a lot of deer lately in our back yard!

School board convention was this week, and Ben went with me. We stayed at a fun hotel.

Went exploring around the city where the convention was, and went to this cool bridge.

Took a great friend to lunch for her birthday!

We had an area awards night, and the school district got an award. 

Getting the Christmas lights out and up because it was a beautiful and sunny day!

Doing a game on top of the puzzle we were also working on. We have so much fun!

 

2023 Blue Jeans Week 44

Ok, finally getting caught up again. This is Oct 29-Nov 4. Donated blood, made a cake, enjoyed time in the city with the C's and loved the birthday gift the kids gave to Ben. Take a look...

It has not worked out with my work schedule to give blood again until this week.  Glad I was able to give!

Not sure if this counts as an October cake, or November cake. I made it on Oct 31, but they ate it on Nov 1st. Ben needed a cake for work, and this is our favorite chocolate peanut butter cake. 

A beautiful sunrise as we left early for the city one day this week. 

Took our bikes up to the city and went riding on some trails there with the C's. Beautiful fall leaves!

For lunch, we got Crumbl cookies :) Yummy!

For Ben's birthday the kids went in together and got us tickets to The Sound of Music at the beautiful performance hall in the city.

We loved the performance! It was phenomenal!! It was a perfect gift for Ben that he loved!

2023 Blue Jeans Week 43

This is the week of Oct 22-28th. We enjoyed my sister and her family being here, headed up to Omaha for some work meetings and carved a pumpkin. I think I need to take more pictures :)

After church on Sunday, my mom, me and my sister. 

Ben had some work meetings in Omaha, and I work remotely, so I just worked remotely there from the hotel. It was a quick trip, but a good one. 

We got a white pumpkin this year to carve since we were slow in buying pumpkins and all the orange ones were gone. 

Our creations! Turned out pretty good!

2023 Blue Jeans Week 42

The week of Oct 15-21 we have my sister and her family come visit. The C's came down, and we had our town's annual festival, and several birthdays. Take a look at our week...

My sister and her family came to town. We did a bonfire with hot dogs and s'mores the night they got in. It was so fun to see them! This is Mrs OC, my brother-in-law, my mom, my nephew, and my sister.

Happy birthday to this amazing guy!  His Boston Cream Pie cake didn't want to keep the filling inside, but it still tasted good!  Sure love you Ben!

Happy birthday to my Dad! His birthday is a few days before Ben's. I always make his favorite banana cream pie for his birthday cake. 

We celebrated 3 birthdays with my sister, my dad, and Ben. Lots of yummy "birthday cakes!"

2023 Blue Jeans Week 41

I am way behind. Getting my work/life in balance has been a challenge. We are good just plugging along! I need to catch up!  This was the week of Oct 8-14.

Spirit week at work, and today was tie-die day. 

Ben is fixing up his old bike after he got his new one.  He wanted to keep this one and fix it up.

Mrs OC and Mr JC came down for a few days. We went on a beautiful fall hike. The leaves were so pretty!

We went on a long bike ride on Saturday with the C's and had a lot of fun!

Did lunch with my wonderful friends!

2023 Blue Jeans Week 40

It was a good week, and it is finally starting to feel like fall!!!!  We got to see Mrs OC and Mr JC twice in a week which was great, and fun to get pictures from the college kids!  Take a look at our week...

Sunday dinner at my Mom and Dad's!  So much fun to have the C's here!

Ben and I are reading this together.  We enjoy reading books out loud to each other or listening to audiobooks together.  This is the 4th in a series that we really like!  

Went to lunch today with my cute co-worker! She is the best!

Date night was A&W. What a cute date I have!

Saturday we were up in the city and attended out temple for some church service.  The flowers and plants around it were beautiful!

Had dinner with the C's and they took us to an Asian market where we got some yummy Taiwanese treats and a moon cake to celebrate (late) the Harvest Moon Festival.

2023 Blue Jeans Week 39

Still waiting for fall temperatures to come here.  It is still in the 90's which is way too hot for the end of September and early October!  We had a good week.  Had some visitors for the weekend which we always love.  Take a look at our week...

Worked on a fall care package for my far away kids.  Made some fun pumpkins for them.

Updated picture of our school board. We got a new member to fill in a vacated position.

I kind of have a thing for post-it notes :)

Went on a bike ride with Mr JC when they came down for the weekend.  That was fun!

Ben made aebelskivers for breakfast on the weekend.  They are a Danish pancake, and a tradition from Ben's dad who served a 2-year mission in Denmark as a young man.  We love them and were happy to introduce Mr JC to them.

Another September cake, this was a dark chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting that Mr JC helped me decorate.  Yummy!
