2015 Blue Jeans Week 44

Marching band is officially over, and I don't have a single band picture to share this week after 2 competitions where they rocked!  I was recording the band performances instead of taking pictures, buy it is all good.  First basketball games are this week.  Woohoo--here we go, but in general November is usually a slower month for us.  Had a fun Halloween and enjoyed a sweet 16 party with some friends at a super fun place.  So, here is a look at our week--goodbye October, hello November!  Gulp!
Precursor to Halloween was a trunk-or-treat at church.  Miss E had fun giving out candy with these 2 helpers :)

Had a family road trip, and my kids love to sing and dance in the car to their music--so much fun!  Ben and I are very entertained :)

Played some GaGa ball this week.  Have you ever played that or seen it?  Pretty intense, but fun!

Miss O and Miss E tried some rock climbing.  Pretty brave.  I couldn't do it.

And Halloween we only had one trick-or-treater.  He worked his magic though as a master magician.  Miss O and he made the costume together.  Pretty cool!

My sister and brother-in-law were in town and took him around our street.  Lots of fun and candy!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have a great week!

2014 Blue Jeans Week 44

Made it through this last week.  Tomorrow is the day--election day.  Will give you an update when I hear.  Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.  Keep them coming!!!  Here is a look at our week. . .
The kids dressed up for our family's Halloween party.

Miss E and Grandpa working on their pumpkin.

The kids' pumpkins.  They always do impressive stuff.  Flame is Miss E, next is Mr J's, then Miss O, and last Captain America by Miss A.

Shoes, shoes, lots of shoes at our house.

Making our traditional pumpkin sugar cookies

Middle school had a Halloween dance, so we had a pre-dance party with Miss E and her fun friends.  Super cute!

Last football game was this week--last band performance.  Miss A on the right is on the keyboard.  Miss O is behind her to the left with the gold mellophone--the horn with the biggest bell.  They were awesome!!!

Happy Halloween!  Just had 2 trick-or-treaters in our house this year--Miss E as a teenage mutant ninja turtle and Mr. J as a king.  They had fun and got tons of candy!

Thanks for visiting!  Come back soon!!!

Halloween 2012

Halloween, what a fun and crazy holiday.  We were lucky this year, the weather was gorgeous.  The kids didn't even need a jacket to trick-or-treat.
The Monday before Halloween we always have a family Halloween party. Everyone is supposed to dress up.  We invite my parents.  They did an awesome job of dressing up--especially my dad!  He was a load of laundry :)

We always eat the same thing for dinner the Monday before Halloween.  We have beef stew cooked in a pumpkin, and when you scoop it out you scrap the sides and get some of the yummy cooked pumpkin in your stew--yum!  We have it every year.

The Monday before Halloween is when we also crave our pumpkins.  Mr J is so good, he always finds his design ahead of time, and Nana is always his helper.  This year he got his pattern from pumpkin in The Berenstain Bear's Trick-or Treat book.  Looks good!

This was Ben's costume Monday night.  Knew his master's degree robes would come in handy someday :)

Scary!

Miss E and Grandpa did her pumpkin.  They were going for the Santa Claus look they said.

Miss O and her sad pumpkin

Everyone's pumpkins outside

In the daylight--Miss A's is the 3rd pumpkin, and somehow I missed getting one of her with her pumpkin.

We always make pumpkin sugar cookies at Halloween.  We had to do lots this year because we needed them for Mr J's school Halloween party.  He had a lot of fun decorating them for the kids in his class.

Halloween day--there is always the parade at school--Mr J is the rocker in tie-dye with his awesome guitar he and Ben made.

And Happy Halloween!  Trick-or-treating here we come--at least for Miss O and Mr J.  Miss A and Miss O only went to one house and then they were done :)
