2013 Blue Jeans Week 1

I am continuing my work of documenting our lives with one picture a day.  This starts my 5th year doing this.  I use Becky Higgins' products to help me do this.  This year I am using the Clementine edition of Project Life. I got it for Christmas :)  So these are my pictures from last week--the last two days of 2012 and the beginning of 2013--our year of Gratitude.

Sunday:  Mr J and Miss E got lots of cool Lego sets for Christmas.  They spent Sunday afternoon with Ben getting them built.  Legos are so awesome!

Monday:  Our rip-roaring New Year's Eve bash :)  We went to my parents' earlier for delicious homemade Chinese/Japanese food, and then came home, watched a movie, did a puzzle and tried to stay awake until midnight.  Miss A didn't make it.  She is asleep behind Ben on the couch.   Happy New Year!

Tuesday:  New Year's Day we spent putting all the Christmas stuff away.  What a chore!  Love getting it out, but by now I am sick of it and ready to have my house back to normal!

Wednesday:  We started our 2013 Blessings Books today because for our family 2013 is the year of Gratitude.  More about that here.

Thursday:  Mr J wanted his room rearranged.  He had a plan of exactly how he wanted it.  We weren't too sure about it, but it actually left him with more floor space which is what he wanted--more room for train tracks!

Friday:  Miss E enjoying her break and enjoying her book.  She is reading the Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage.

Saturday:  One thing Santa left us was a new basketball standard.  The kids were super excited, and despite the cold have used it quite a bit already.  Mr J loves that it is adjustable.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope your new year is going great!  Come back and visit often!!

Last Blue Jeans Week of 2011

The last week of 2011 pictures. . .

Monday:  Santa left us with some pretty cool new bikes, and our weather has been nice enough that the kids have ridden them every day since.

Tuesday:  Grandpa teaching Miss A how to drive--drive!!!  I try not to think about that too often--14 year olds can drive legally in our state--crazy!

Wednesday:  Mr J had two things he requested on his new bike from Santa--a basket and a bell.  Santa found the cool black zipper "basket" and the silver bell.  You can hear the bell all up and down the street when he goes riding.  He loves that bell!  He says when he rings it he is saying "Hi!"

Thursday:  Mr J hanging out and playing with his Uncle.  Love it when family is in town to play with!

Friday:  Ben and I got away for our 16th anniversary.  We went to one of those themed room hotels.  We had the Presidential Suite where you walk into this library and then one of the shelves in the library is a door and opens to the room and jacuzzi tub.  So fun!

Saturday:  New Year's Eve was celebrated at our friends' house with yummy Chinese food and lots of Just Dance on the Wii.  Ben, Miss A, Miss O, and our friends get into it.  We were planning on staying until midnight, but about 10 everyone was about asleep, so we set off some fire works and were home by 10:30.
Happy New Year!  Welcome 2012!

Last Daily December 31: Happy New Year's Eve!

Wow,  I didn't really know if I was going to be able to make it the whole month of December with daily blogging, but I did.  Yeah!  Thank heavens for the option to schedule your posts ahead of time :)  I think December is kind of a crazy month to do that, but there is also lots to share.  I hope you have enjoyed it.  We are getting ready for our New Year's Eve get together with some friends tonight.  It has sort of become a tradition that we have Chinese food for dinner, which I love!

One of my contributions is egg rolls.  I make my mom's recipe which she got from some friends when I was about 8 who are from Africa.  I know Africa and egg rolls don't really go together, but my African friend's egg rolls are the best!  They are a process to make, but it makes tons and are so worth it.  So, we are egg roll wrapping today so we can devour them tonight and ring in the New Year!

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and here's to more blogging next year!!!
