Last Blue Jeans Week of 2011

The last week of 2011 pictures. . .

Monday:  Santa left us with some pretty cool new bikes, and our weather has been nice enough that the kids have ridden them every day since.

Tuesday:  Grandpa teaching Miss A how to drive--drive!!!  I try not to think about that too often--14 year olds can drive legally in our state--crazy!

Wednesday:  Mr J had two things he requested on his new bike from Santa--a basket and a bell.  Santa found the cool black zipper "basket" and the silver bell.  You can hear the bell all up and down the street when he goes riding.  He loves that bell!  He says when he rings it he is saying "Hi!"

Thursday:  Mr J hanging out and playing with his Uncle.  Love it when family is in town to play with!

Friday:  Ben and I got away for our 16th anniversary.  We went to one of those themed room hotels.  We had the Presidential Suite where you walk into this library and then one of the shelves in the library is a door and opens to the room and jacuzzi tub.  So fun!

Saturday:  New Year's Eve was celebrated at our friends' house with yummy Chinese food and lots of Just Dance on the Wii.  Ben, Miss A, Miss O, and our friends get into it.  We were planning on staying until midnight, but about 10 everyone was about asleep, so we set off some fire works and were home by 10:30.
Happy New Year!  Welcome 2012!

Blue Jeans Week 38

I have been trying to blog for the last 2 days, but my computer has not been cooperating.  Love modern technology :)  So (finally) here was our last week. . .
Sunday:  This was our scene in the library as we listened to General Conference--legos, legos everywhere--do not step-beware!

Monday:  Mr J and Miss O put some finishing touches on their lego house this afternoon.  We love legos at our house.
Tuesday:  Our roof is done, I got some pumpkins for the front porch, and we had some rain.  Life is good!

Wednesday:  We had some dear friends visiting, and they have a 1 year-old that my kids just adore, but I forgot how toddlers that age will not sit still for a second--especially for a picture :)  Too cute!  Mr J especially wanted a picture because our little friend is wearing the outfit Mr J bought for him when he was born--Thomas the train, of course.

Thursday:  Ben and the kids (but mostly Ben) have been working on a new chicken coop.  We are so lucky to have a neighbor that has a huge wood shop and will let us build anything there and use anything he has.  Love our neighbors!  He helped Ben and the kids bring over the new coop today so we could move the chickens in.

Friday:  The new coop with the chickens all moved in.   It is nice!  Way to go Ben and kiddos!!

Saturday:  Ben and the girls coming back from a bike ride this afternoon.  The weather has been so beautiful!

Hope you all have a great week!

Blue Jeans Week 15

A week behind but better late than never :)
Easter Sunday:  Love the new dresses and how they each have their own style--long gone are the days they would all wear the same dress :)

Monday:  Mr J didn't have school today, so he got extra lucky and got to go have lunch with Grandpa!  My dad is retiring this month after many, many years as the art teacher at our local junior college.  It is sad to see his office slowly being emptied, but I am excited for him to start a new phase in life.  Way to go Dad!
Tuesday:  Kind of blurry, but the girl was running fast!  Miss E's last soccer game today!  Yeah!

Wednesday:  Had lunch with some girlfriends today, and we went to this place that had the biggest and best hot chocolate I have ever had--all the whipped cream on top--oh my!

Thursday:  Beautiful day, and the crew went on a bike ride while I had some quiet time :)  so nice

Friday:  Two pictures for today.  Each April our county hosts a Young Author's conference/competition.  The school children write books and the best book winners get to attend a conference with 2 visiting nationally known children's authors or illustrators.  My mom is the co-chairman of this thing, so we get to attend a dinner with the visiting authors the night before.  Above are my kiddos with children's book author Pamela Duncan Edwards.  If you have never read her stuff, please check it out--super fun picture books your kids will love!

This is the other visiting author--Dandi Daley MacKall, and she has written over 400 books for kids--picture books, novels, check her stuff out.  They were both awesome to listen to and meet.  Great people!!

Saturday:  Today was Miss O's 11th birthday!!  We took her friends bowling then back to our house for pizza and then the girls had an impromptu hair salon--cute, cute!

Learning to ride a bike

Last weekend I took the girls to see the new Percy Jackson movie because we had all read the books. Ben has read them too, but we decided it wasn't a movie for Mr J. So Ben and Mr J stayed home and were supposed to be fixing his training wheels. Well, we got home and this was what we found. Ben said the training wheels couldn't be fixed, so he was just going to have to learn to ride his bike.
What a good daddy!

Mr J just laughed and laughed when Ben was trying to help him learn. He thought it was the funniest thing in the world and couldn't keep his feet on the pedals because he was laughing so hard :) Funny kid. He hasn't quite got the hang of it yet, but soon. . .oh, and all the girls really liked the movie!
