2013 Daily December 20--The Christmas letter

Every year I send out a Christmas letter and picture.  Here is this year's edition

Dear Family and Friends,

We hope this Christmas season finds you and yours healthy and well.  We are doing great.  It has been a year of firsts and change for us.  First time being band parents, first time being basketball parents, and Ben had a job change.  We are still in our same town, same house—come see us!  We weren’t looking for the job change, but it fell into our laps, and we felt it would be good.  Ben is now the Director of Rehab Services at the brand new Hospital.  Being in a brand new facility is very nice, and he enjoys his work and co-workers.  It has been and continues to be a challenge and a good change.  Here is what everyone else has been up to this year along with their favorite books of the year.

Ben—new job, got to move his department to the new hospital, teaching early morning seminary, playing the piano in the Primary at church, seldom if ever makes the bed, favorite book:  Wonder by R.J. Palacio.

Miss A—almost 16!!, sophomore, driving our big old green mini-van to school, track star, cross country star, piano, Singers, loves writing, all A’s student, never makes her bed, favorite book:  The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen.

Miss O—13, 8th grader, band student extraordinaire—High School marching band, performance band, 2 jazz bands and regular middle school band!  Plays the mellophone, French horn, trumpet, piano, and guitar,  track star—broke school record for mile, volleyball, basketball, super reader, all A’s, very good cook, never picks up her clothes or makes her bed, favorite book:  Divergent by Veronica Roth

Miss E—11, 6th grader, band lover—plays trombone, also plays piano, super reader, loves middle school, all A’s, loves to be with friends, very good cook, loved seeing the Broadway musical Wicked, this summer:  swim team, play, tennis, theater, art and basketball camps, never makes her bed, favorite book:  Divergent by Veronica Roth

Mr J—8, 3rd grade, got baptized into our church this year, cub scouts, this summer: swimming lessons, theater, science and basketball camps, loved seeing the Broadway musical Wicked, sometimes remembers to make his bed, favorite book:  Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

We hope you enjoy this season.  We are so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for Christ’s birth, life, atonement and resurrection.  He is our Savior—the Savior of the world who loves us, and we love Him.  May you feel of His matchless love this season and all year.
